EnergyCloud Germany is pleased to announce the appointment of Henrik Schapp<\/strong> as Chief Executive Officer<\/strong>, as the organisation accelerates its mission to turn surplus renewable electricity into direct social benefit for households experiencing energy poverty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

EnergyCloud\u2019s purpose is clear: ensure renewable electricity that would otherwise be wasted is used to support households in need. The scale of the opportunity in Germany is significant. In 2024, approximately 9,400 GWh of renewable electricity were curtailed<\/strong>, with an estimated retail value of \u20ac3.76 billion<\/strong>, while millions of households continued to struggle with energy costs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Henrik will lead EnergyCloud Germany\u2019s delivery phase, working with partners across the energy system to scale practical programmes that reduce curtailment and direct tangible benefits to vulnerable households. With the EnergyCloud platform now operational<\/strong>, the focus will be on deepening collaboration with energy partners, housing providers, technology companies and social institutions to unlock the social value of surplus renewable generation. <\/p>\n\n\n

Henrik\u2019s appointment builds on recent governance and leadership milestones for EnergyCloud Germany, including the Board\u2019s ratification of the EnergyCloud Charter<\/strong> in December 2025 and the appointment of Dr Christian Feisst as Chairperson<\/strong> in January 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commenting on his appointment, Henrik Schapp<\/strong>, CEO of EnergyCloud Germany, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
