{"id":756,"date":"2023-05-08T15:38:00","date_gmt":"2023-05-08T15:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/energycloud.org\/ireland\/?p=756"},"modified":"2025-11-20T15:39:59","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T15:39:59","slug":"john-walsh-joins-the-board-of-energycloud-ireland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/energycloud.org\/ireland\/john-walsh-joins-the-board-of-energycloud-ireland\/","title":{"rendered":"John Walsh joins the board of EnergyCloud Ireland"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Welcome to the board of EnergyCloud Ireland to Dr John Walsh, Emerging Technology and R&amp;D Manager, ESB Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John is responsible for leading ESB&#8217;s Group strategy for the adoption and commercialisation of emerging energy technologies to meet the evolving needs of customers and to grow new business in support of ESB&#8217;s Net Zero by 2040 Strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With over 25 years&#8217; experience, he has held a range of operational, engineering, commercial and senior management roles across the energy industry including in retail electricity supply, energy services, electric mobility, sustainability, health safety and wellbeing and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John has been welcomed to the board by Gabriel D&#8217;Arcy, Chairperson of EnergyCloud Ireland, who also paid a warm tribute to Colm de Burca ESB who has stepped down from the board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOn behalf of the board, a most sincere thanks to Colm de Burca for his incredible leadership and contribution to the development of EnergyCloud. Under the leadership of Colm, ESB has played a key role in realising the mission of EnergyCloud, which is to create solutions to divert surplus renewable energy &#8211; which would otherwise be wasted &#8211; to homes, with a primary focus on those in fuel poverty.
