Amazon has launched its latest project with Energy Cloud in Fingal, Ireland, in collaboration with Co-operative Housing Ireland.<\/p>\n
The project, which is part of an ongoing collaboration between not-for-profit EnergyCloud Ireland and Amazon, will enable 500 families across Fingal to receive free tanks of hot water via an EnergyCloud enabled smart device. The device uses surplus renewable energy, which would otherwise be wasted, to heat immersion tanks, offering residents savings on their energy bills while reducing carbon emissions.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made by Ireland\u2019s\u00a0Minister for Climate, Environment and Energy, Darragh O\u2019Brien<\/strong>, who said: \u201cThis is an ambitious and creative project between EnergyCloud Ireland, Co-operative Housing Ireland and Amazon, and I\u2019m delighted to have the opportunity to officially launch this programme in Fingal.\u00a0 The government has clear ambitions under the Climate Action Plan to reduce our carbon emissions by 51% by 2030. This innovative project, supported by Eirgrid and ESB, aligns with government goals by using surplus renewable energy and smart technology to assist those experiencing energy poverty.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The first devices will be installed in collaboration with\u00a0Co-operative Housing Ireland.
