The Irish Solar Energy Association (ISEA) is excited to announce a new partnership with EnergyCloud Ireland, focused on tackling fuel poverty across Ireland. This collaboration will harness surplus renewable energy to power social housing, offering a sustainable solution to help alleviate the growing energy crisis faced by vulnerable communities.
Fuel poverty affects over 550,000 Irish households, with this number continuing to rise amid escalating energy costs. Through this partnership, ISEA and EnergyCloud are working together to provide direct energy cost savings for families in need, while reducing Ireland's reliance on fossil fuels. This initiative not only supports the country's energy transition but also ensures that the benefits of renewable energy are shared by those who need it most.
EnergyCloud is a Not For Profit organisation that uses surplus renewable energy to provide free electricity to homes in fuel poverty. The initiative is supported by major players in the energy sector, including Eirgrid, ESB Networks, Bord Gais, Electric Ireland, Pinergy, PrepayPower, SSE Airtricity, and Wind Energy Ireland, among others. Through this collaborative approach, EnergyCloud ensures that renewable energy does not go to waste, instead directing it to communities who need it the most.
"This partnership with EnergyCloud represents a meaningful step forward in our mission to make renewable energy accessible to all, while addressing Ireland's fuel poverty challenge. By collaborating on sustainable solutions for vulnerable communities, we're bringing the benefits of solar energy to those who need it most. ISEA is proud to be part of a solution that aligns with our values and the goals of our members. Together, we're making a tangible impact on energy equity and sustainability in Ireland." - Conall Bolger, CEO, ISEA
ISEA members will soon have opportunities to contribute to this important initiative as the partnership develops. These opportunities will help expand the impact of the collaboration and drive positive change for communities across Ireland.
Alan Wyley, CEO of EnergyCloud said 'We are delighted to partner with ISEA (Irish Solar Energy Association). As the leading voice of the solar industry in Ireland ISEA gives us a unique opportunity to work with system operators, developers, installers and other solar players as we strive to use surplus solar energy which would otherwise be wasted, to help those in energy poverty.'
ISEA is eager to collaborate with EnergyCloud to drive this vital social change. We invite all our members to engage with this initiative and stay tuned for more details on how you can be part of this transformative partnership.
