Duncan McCombie appointed EnergyCloud England Vice Chairman

EnergyCloud England is delighted to announce the appointment of Duncan McCombie as Vice Chairman, bringing a wealth of experience in tackling fuel poverty and driving sustainable energy solutions. EnergyCloud is a social enterprise which redirects surplus renewable energy, which would otherwise be wasted, into the homes of households experiencing fuel poverty.

Duncan McCombie has been a leader in the energy efficiency sector for many years, serving as Group Chief Executive of YES Energy Solutions CIC since 2016. Under his leadership, YES Energy Solutions has expanded significantly, tripling turnover in his first three years and achieving record customer satisfaction levels of 91%. In the past three years, he has lead a fivefold increase in turnover while strengthening a culture of ‘Green, Great and Gracious’, ensuring YES remains a great place to work while delivering its core mission of helping more households escape fuel poverty.

Speaking on his appointment, Duncan McCombie said: “I am excited to join EnergyCloud England and contribute to this innovative solution that tackles fuel poverty by redirecting surplus renewable energy to the people who need it most. EnergyCloud presents a huge opportunity to help vulnerable households access clean, free energy while making better use of the UK’s renewable resources. I look forward to working with the team to drive meaningful change and ensure that no household has to struggle for warmth while surplus energy goes to waste.”

“The climate is changing and the work we will now begin with EnergyCloud will better prepare communities for that change. Working collaboratively, and across disciplines, will bring robust and relevant timely solutions, delivering greater benefits through innovation and hard work. This will make a significant and sustainable difference to supporting the delivery of the government’s commitment to tackle fuel poverty and improving the lives of householders across England” concluded McCombie.

Prior to joining YES, Duncan had a diverse career in consultancy, energy efficiency at Energy Saving Trust and the water sector dealing with both drought and flooding for Thames Water.

Duncan’s appointment comes at a critical time as EnergyCloud England continues to expand its efforts to provide sustainable and cost-effective solutions to fuel poverty. His strategic leadership, industry expertise, and passion for positive change will be invaluable in driving forward EnergyCloud’s mission.
