“I have been lucky enough to speak with a number of Clúid residents who were part of the EnergyCloud pilot. They are delighted with the EnergyCloud system, with several mentioning the great feeling of waking up to a text message saying that they have received a free tank of hot water. One resident told me that now, when it’s windy out, she thinks ‘oh great, that means a free tank of hot water for me!’.

Clúid residents are also impressed by the environmental benefits of the programme – that energy that would otherwise be wasted is being utilised, and that they are heating their water using renewable wind energy, rather than fossil fuels. The simple display screen on the EnergyCloud device is also helping them make the most of their hot water – they can clearly see how much hot water they have left, so they can better decide if they need to heat the tank again. Being able to turn the tank on remotely using the app also means they have greater control and only need to turn it on when they actually need it.”
