Appointment of Chairperson as EnergyCloud Germany Advances Its Mission
EnergyCloud Germany has announced the appointment of Dr. Christian Feisst as Chairperson, effective 21 January 2026, as the organisation strengthens its mission to turn surplus renewable energy into direct social benefit.

EnergyCloud’s mission is to ensure that renewable electricity that would otherwise be wasted is used to help households experiencing energy poverty. The scale of this challenge in Germany is significant. In 2024, approximately 9,400 GWh of renewable electricity were curtailed, with an estimated retail value of €3.76 billion. At the same time, millions of households continue to struggle with the cost of heating and electricity.
The appointment of a Chairperson follows a key governance milestone. At a meeting on 17 December 2025, the Board of EnergyCloud Germany ratified the EnergyCloud Charter, formally committing the organisation to a set of principles focused on social impact, transparency and collaboration across the energy system.
Dr. Feisst brings more than 25 years’ experience in the energy and digital technology sectors. He has founded and scaled companies, advised clean-tech investors and energy companies, and led advanced technology and AI teams. His experience will support EnergyCloud Germany as it works with energy partners, housing providers and technology companies to unlock the social value of surplus renewable energy.
With strong leadership in place and the platform now operational, EnergyCloud Germany aims to demonstrate how Germany’s energy transition can deliver both environmental and social outcomes, ensuring that clean energy benefits households rather than being lost through curtailment.
