EnergyCloud Ireland’s strategy is built on a two-front approach. The first is practical delivery: using smart, demand-flexible technologies to redirect surplus renewable energy — which would otherwise be curtailed — into homes experiencing energy poverty. By working with local authorities and approved housing bodies, EnergyCloud deploys proven and emerging technologies, including smart immersion controllers and other energy-flexible solutions, to deliver immediate benefit to households.
The second strand of EnergyCloud’s strategy is advocacy and policy engagement. Energy poverty and renewable energy waste are system-level challenges that require Government leadership. EnergyCloud works to inform and support the development of policies and frameworks that ensure surplus renewable energy is used to address energy poverty at scale, in line with the Programme for Government and Ireland’s Climate Action Plan. Together, these two strands ensure that EnergyCloud delivers impact today while working to embed long-term, structural solutions within Ireland’s energy system.
