An update from Jamie Delargy, Chairperson of EnergyCloud NI
It is just over 12 months since the first EnergyCloud project was launched in Omagh, with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
In that 12 month period, with the support of partners such as Budget Energy, Click Energy, Share Energy and SSE Airtricity, families were able to receive free energy on 130 separate nights.
The partnership has expanded to Radius Housing, NB Housing and the Bryson Charitable Group
In 2025, surplus renewable wind energy with an estimated retail value of £204 million was wasted across Northern Ireland.
EnergyCloud is working with SONI – System Operator for Northern Ireland, NIE Networks and retail partners such as Budget Energy, ClickEnergy, Share Energy and SSE Airtricity to help redirect that to families in or at risk of fuel poverty.
