2,017 million kWh of surplus zero carbon renewable energy was wasted across England, Scotland and Wales.

In the first two months of 2026 alone, 2,017 million kWh of surplus zero carbon renewable energy was wasted across England, Scotland and Wales.

The estimated retail value of this unused clean energy is £558,507,300.

At the same time, millions of households across England, Scotland and Wales continue to experience fuel poverty, struggling to afford the energy they need to heat their homes.

Clean energy is being switched off while people cannot afford to stay warm.
This highlights the urgent need for practical solutions that ensure surplus renewable energy can be redirected to social good.

That is the challenge EnergyCloud is working to address.
