Join the Board of EnergyCloud Scotland as a voluntary Director

We are inviting expressions of interest from people who would like to join the Board of EnergyCloud Scotland as a voluntary Director.

Scotland has one of Europe’s richest renewable energy resources. Yet the latest Scottish Government modelling estimates that 800,000 households will be in fuel poverty between July and September 2026, including around 420,000 households in extreme fuel poverty.

At the same time, clean electricity continues to be curtailed because the energy system cannot always use it when it is generated.

EnergyCloud Scotland exists to connect these two challenges. We develop practical solutions that redirect surplus renewable electricity to help provide free renewable energy to households experiencing fuel poverty.

This Board appointment is not tied to one narrow professional specialism. We are looking for someone who can bring sound judgement, relevant senior experience, constructive challenge and a genuine commitment to building a fairer, cleaner energy future. Experience across energy, housing, public policy, technology, finance, governance, the community sector, communications, fundraising or partnership development would all be valuable.

This is a voluntary, non executive role. For the full role profile or to express an interest, please email scotland@energycloud.org with a copy of your CV and a short note explaining the contribution you could make.

No renewable energy should go to waste while households are struggling with fuel poverty.
