Energy Action Scotland’s 2026 Fuel Poverty Conference

EnergyCloud Scotland is encouraging colleagues and partners to take part in Energy Action Scotland’s Annual Conference on 19–20 November 2026 at the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel in Clydebank.

Under the theme “System Overload: From Energy Debt Crisis to Fairer Futures”, the conference will bring together policymakers, energy specialists, housing organisations and frontline services to examine how Scotland can put households experiencing fuel poverty at the centre of energy policy.

The programme will address energy debt, the challenges facing households with essential medical needs and disabilities, and the barriers confronting remote and rural communities. Workshops will explore the wider benefits of investment in tackling fuel poverty, partnerships with minority ethnic communities and the energy industry’s role in supporting consumers.

Speakers listed include Carolynne Hunter; Stephen Gethins MSP, Minister for Europe, External Affairs and Energy; Ross Armstrong, Chief Executive of Warmworks; and Andrew Ward, CEO of ScottishPower. The event will also include the sixth annual Fuel Poverty Awards.

For EnergyCloud Scotland, the conference’s focus on fairer futures speaks directly to the need to connect Scotland’s renewable energy resources with its social needs. Surplus renewable electricity continues to go unused while households struggle to afford essential energy.

EnergyCloud’s work demonstrates how some of that surplus can be used to provide free energy to households experiencing or at risk of fuel poverty. Greater collaboration between housing providers, energy companies, public bodies and communities can help extend that benefit.

The conference offers an opportunity to share experience, strengthen partnerships and advance solutions that make Scotland’s energy transition work for more people.
