EnergyCloud Ireland’s strategy is shaped by the scale and reality of energy poverty in Ireland. More than 550,000 homes are affected, representing at least 1.5 million people. Today, EnergyCloud focuses primarily on social housing, where need is high and where partnerships with local authorities and approved housing bodies allow surplus renewable energy to be delivered quickly and effectively to households experiencing energy poverty.
Our approach combines practical delivery with system-level change. We use smart, demand-flexible technologies to redirect surplus renewable energy into social homes, providing immediate benefit and improving comfort for households who are most exposed to high energy costs and poorly heated homes. At the same time, we engage with Government and key stakeholders to advocate for policies that recognise energy poverty as an issue of equality and justice, and that ensure surplus renewable energy is used to support those most affected. Together, this approach allows EnergyCloud to deliver real benefit now, while working towards long-term, fair solutions across Ireland’s energy system.
