EnergyCloud FAIR: Framework for Access, Inclusion & Resilience

Ireland’s transition to a clean energy future is accelerating. Renewable energy generation is growing rapidly, yet many households experiencing energy poverty remain unable to benefit directly from this transition.

EnergyCloud FAIR (Framework for Access, Inclusion & Resilience) is an initiative exploring how the benefits of Ireland’s renewable energy system can be shared more equitably with households experiencing energy poverty.

The initiative builds on EnergyCloud Ireland’s mission to ensure that surplus renewable energy is used to support those most affected by high energy costs. Through research, innovation and practical demonstration projects, FAIR will examine how renewable energy, demand flexibility and low-carbon heating technologies can contribute to a more inclusive and socially just energy transition.

FAIR is founded on a simple principle:

The benefits of Ireland’s renewable energy transition should be available to everyone, including households experiencing energy poverty.

By combining social impact, energy system flexibility and renewable energy utilisation, FAIR seeks to develop evidence-based approaches that support both climate action and social inclusion.

Through EnergyCloud FAIR, we are working to develop the evidence, partnerships and practical models needed to support fair access to renewable energy. Over time, this work will inform research programmes, living labs, policy recommendations and implementation frameworks that help deliver a more inclusive and socially just energy transition.
